Mrs. Gloria Uzorchuku Osilama
Gloria is a Chief State Counsel with the Lagos State Ministry of Justice. A lawyer with almost two decades experience in the legal practice and ADR, she holds an LL.B (Hons) Degree from the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma (1997) and is called to the Nigerian Bar. She is a professional negotiator, mediator & conciliator.A consummate defender of the rights of the vulnerable including Widows,Children(rights), protection of the Girl child, Women advocacy, as well as defender of indigents in the society. She worked in the Citizens’ Mediation Centre

(CMC) of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice between 2007 and 2016. Whilst at the CMC, she was Head of the Bariga Unit between 2013 and 2015 and was Head of the Yaba Unit from 2015 – 2016. During her period in Bariga, her unit successfully resolved over 80% of matters brought before them. Also, as Head of the Yaba Unit, the office won the Best Office Award (2015)awarded by ‘The Justice 4 All’ (J4A) among the 14 other CMC offices.She has creditably acquitted herself in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)(mediation), successfully resolving many disputes among contending parties through negotiation andmediation.
She is currently with the Bureau of The Public Defender (BPD) where she defends the rights of the vulnerable in the society and stands as a voice for the defenceless. She superintends the BPD Eti-OsaSub-Office in Ajahand is also Head,Data Publication Committee (DPC) of the BPD.
She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA), the International Bar Association (IBA) and aFellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC).She holds an Advanced Diploma in Journalism with specialization in Public Relations and Advertising (PRAD) from the Nigeria Institute of Journalism.
She is a member of the Trainers of Trainees (TOT faculty) of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), Lagos Chapter, having previously served as an Executive Member of the Chapter between 2015 and 2018.
She is a certified mediator of many ADR institutions including the Lagos MultiDoor Court House (LMDC). She is also an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Expert, Internationally certified, having attended the ODR-Europe training.
She has the following certifications amongst others:

  • Certificates in Advanced Mediation and Mediation Skills Training.
  • Trial Advocacy Skills Training from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) Colorado USA.
  • Training Program in the art of Expert Witness - (NITA), USA

She has numerous laurels and awards to her credit for her diligence and hardwork, including Justice & Peace Awards and Community Service Awards both locally and internationally.
She is involved in numerous Christian activities and belongs to the Confraternity of Catholic Christian Mothers (CCM) and the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO). She was the Chairperson of Children and Youth Harvest 2013 of the Catholic Church of the Assumption Falomo Ikoyi Lagos.
She is a member of the Nigeria Red Cross Society, Ikoyi Club and Matron of the Boys Scout Eti-Osa Division Lagos. She is married and blessed with three (3) adorable children.
