Mr. Odusanya Olajide Abayomi
Mr. Odusanya is an Assistant Director with the Lagos State Ministry of Justice. A lawyer with over 20 years experience in legal practice and ADR. He is a seasoned Prosecutor, certified Mediator, professional negotiator and conciliator. A consummate defender of the rights of the voiceless indigents and the vulnerable such as children, women and the disabled.
Mr. Odusanya worked previously in the Directorate of Public Prosecutions between 2001-2007 where he prosecuted several defendants for diverse offences.

Between 2007-2009,Odusanya also prosecuted offenders at Lagos State Special Offences Court sitting at Alausa where he rose to the rank of Legal Adviser to the Chairman of the Task Force Unit and Head of Legal Unit of the Agency.
Mr. Odusanya also worked with Citizens Mediation Centre between 2009-2010 where several mediation matters were handled successfully. In fact, he was made Head of Amukoko CMC sub-Office at Mosafejo, Lagos State but official posting took him away to the Lagos State Lotteries Board in December 2010.
At the Lagos State Lotteries Board, Mr. Odusanya prosecuted several lotteries offenders to logical conclusion with success. He also handled few civil matters for the Agency. Notable among the civil matters was the case of Constance V Lagos Lotteries Board & Others presided over by Honorable Justice Buba of the Federal High Court, Lagos Division where judgment was given in favor of the Lagos State Lotteries Board.
In 2016, new posting brought Mr. Odusanya to the Office of Public Defender where he was later made the Head of Ikorodu Sub-Office. At this time, he was also the Head of Family and Child Justice Unit and at the same time, Chairman of the Prison Visit Committee. A group saddled with the responsibility of seeing the inmates at the correctional centres and taking up cases requiring need for legal representation.
During this period, several mediation cases, family Court matters were successfully handled by Odusanya. Notable among them are the cases of;

  • A. Iyabo Badru V Abiodun Badru of suit no. ID/712WD/2014
  • B. Opeoluwani Ogunjimi V Adeyemi Ogunjimi of suit no. ID/3028WD/16

Judgments were delivered in favor of the Petitioners represented by OPD Officein the above mentioned cases and several others. Mr. Odusanya has undergone several trainings both locally and internationally to develop his managerial as well as his professionalskills. Among others, he attended training in managerial skills improvement and personal effectiveness organized by Human Capital Management and Solutions Limited. He has advance training in criminal defence from continual legal education program of National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), Colorado, U.S.A. he has attended conferences and workshops both locally and internationally including International Bar Conference.
In January 2020, Odusanya was made the Head of Criminal Defence Unit and also Campaign Awareness Committee. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar (NBA), International Bar Association (IBA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediator and Conciliators (ICMC). Odusanya is a certified Mediator of the Lagos Multidoor Court House (LMDCH). He is happily married with children.
